Ann Curry

Ann Curry is an American photographer and journalist. She has been reporting for over 45 years, focusing on human suffering in war zones and natural disasters. Curry covered wars in Kosovo, Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry (born on November 19th, 1956 in the city of Agana) is an American anchor, television reporter and journalist. She was most famous for her work as a reporter on The Today Show, a popular morning newscast produced by the National Broadcasting Co. Curry's work was praised for her coverage of humanitarian crisis that occurred in war-torn countries and natural catastrophes. Curry was born in Japan and raised by an Japanese mother. Her father was a U.S. Navy sailor. Her mother was living with her father in Japan following World War II. Because of her father's work in the military, they moved a lot. Curry attended high school in Ashland, Oregon. In 1978 she graduated in 1978 from The University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in journalism. She later became the first female news reporter for KTVL at just 22 years old. Then she was promoted to the position of anchor as well as reporter at KGW an NBC station in Portland, Oregan. In Los Angeles, she became a reporter at KCBS TV just four years after arriving in the city. The time she worked with the channel for seven years that she earned two Emmy Awards.
